Local Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping company, Digimap, has been awarded the top award at the ESRI Worldwide Business Conference in Palm Springs.

The “Foundation Partner of the Year” award was presented to Managing Director, Colin Le Conte by Jack Dangermond the “Bill Gates” of the Geographic Information System world.

Colin was understandably delighted with their latest International award. “Our aim is to ensure local businesses receive maximum benefit from the States of Guernsey mapping, but it is great to receive Worldwide recognition for the achievements of the Digimap and the hard work of the staff”.

Deputy Bill Bell, Chairman of the States of Guernsey Digimap Management Board was proud to have lead the project over the last 8 years, “It has been most interesting and rewarding to have been so closely involved with this innovative and practical project, and it has been good to see both the Public and the Private sector making such good and widespread use of the States of Guernsey Mapping. This is in no small way due to Digimap’s great expertise, experience and efforts and it is pleasing that they have received the recognition they deserve.”

Digimap have now been asked to give one of the main presentations at the ESRI UK Business Partner Conference later this month.

2003 Award


Everyone is particularly proud that the States of Guernsey won the "Special Achievement in GIS award" at the ESRI International GIS User Conference in San Diego in 2003.

Dave Wakeford, the Administration and Systems Manager for the project, joined over 11,000 people and received this prestigious award on behalf of the States of Guernsey.

This achievement was in no small way due to the outstanding efforts of Digimap Ltd, Colin Le Conte and his team. Digimap Ltd was also recognised in 2003 when they were awarded the "Business Partner of the Year" award at the 2003 ESRI Worldwide Business Conference in California.
